Kentucky’s House Bill 294 establishing certain requirements for persons engaged in debt adjusting went into effect on June 20, 2005, and is codified in KRS 380.

The regulation for enforcement of the law, and the registration form and audit checklist, became final on August 25, 2005. Debt adjusters subject to the law must promptly file the initial registration form and pay the initial registration fee in order to continue providing debt adjusting services. The form and fee must be postmarked by October 24, 2005, to be considered in compliance with this requirement.
