Welcome to the Kentucky LifeSmarts Competition!
The Kentucky LifeSmarts partners are excited that ten teams are participating in the 2009-2010 LifeSmarts state competition. This year, over 43 KY teams have signed up for the online competition. Over half of the teams qualified to participate, and the top scoring teams are invited to the face-to-face competition this week, March 4th, in Frankfort. At the competition, students will showcase their consumer knowledge in the areas of personal finance, health and safety, the environment, technology and consumer rights and responsibilities. Consumer experts in these areas will moderate the competition. Our goal is for teams to have fun while learning and improving marketplace skills. Being an informed, educated consumer will prove to be one of the most valuable life skills students can possess. The winning team will represent Kentucky at the national Lifesmarts competition in Miami, FL in April.
The Attorney General’s Office, along with our LifeSmarts partners, the Department of Financial Institutions, the Department of Insurance, the Better Business Bureau and 4-H Cooperative Extension Service, challenge all citizens to become better informed consumers!
