The state income tax refund check-off program

KENTUCKY CARES ABOUT CHILDREN Check the box for the CHILD VICTIMS TRUST FUND on your income tax form to make a donation or to contribute a portion of your refund. You can also contribute by making a direct donation at icareaboutkids.ky.gov, or by purchasing the I CARE ABOUT KIDS license plate. Ask your local County Clerk when renewing your vehicle tags The Kentucky Child Victims Trust Fund (CVTF) provides funding for child sexual abuse prevention programs that utilize innovative strategies to provide children with personal safety skills, teach adults how to keep children safe from child abuse and exploitation, and inform the public about the mandatory reporting of suspected child abuse. The CVTF also provides partial reimbursement for child sexual abuse medical exams at children's advocacy centers across the state. For more information, call the Office of Attorney General Daniel Cameron at (502) 696-5300 or visit icareaboutkids.ky.gov.

Here’s an easy way to help. While you are filling out your state income tax form, you can designate a portion of your refund to the Child Victims’ Trust Fund.

Just check the amount of money you wish to donate from your refund, and we take care of the rest.

Note: If you have a tax preparer fill out your forms, be sure to let him/her know you wish to make a donation this way. (And if you’re a tax preparer, we ask that you let your clients know about this option!) Your donation is tax-deductible.
